An Ivestigation on Abrasion Resistance And Bending Rigidity of Recycled Nonwovens Including Blanket Trimmings

In this study blanket trimmings and mechanically recycled fibers were blended softly pre-needlepunched to be used as innerlayers of conventional needle-punched nonwovens. The outer layers from three types raw materials (polypropylene, polyester fibers) the control groups produced by classical needle-punching at two different needle-punch densities. Abrasion resistance bending properties end products investigated considering layer ratio, material type density through standard test methods. Among all types, highest abrasion cycles rigidity values observed for PP layered products. Increase in needling increased between 10%-20% 3%-8% among overall. Comparing fabrics with 20% groups, was preserved 67% -75% 86%-93%
